Alan’s Growth Cycle™

For some time, people who are veterans of my communities and events have asked for “special time” with others they believe are at their particular level of success and career progression, and with me, personally. I’ve tried to provide that with a variety of offerings and intimate experiences, but I think it’s time to formalize the opportunity for those who have garnered the learning and experiences requisite to grow dramatically—personally and professionally—within small groups.

I’ve created two types of groups for such a growth cycle: Alan’s Roundtable and Alan’s Circle.

I’ve consulted with people globally on needs and preferences, and I’ve studied what some others are doing who have strong brands, long-time relationships, and requests for more intimate growth experiences. I’ve tried to synthesize what I’ve learned and heard with my unique communities and my own strengths.

And I want to offer options, so that people can choose what is best for them and/or move back and forth between the two.

The two experiences look like this:

I. Alan’s Circle

  1. Preference to people already in the community. Qualified newcomers will be admitted subject to my approval.

  2. Sixteen people maximum in any given group, though groups may have fewer.

  3. Two days with me individually, including dinner, over 12 months

  4. Eight distinctive interactive teleconferences for the group, with free downloads.

  5. Ten percent discount on any and all of my participative events.

  6. Priority inclusion in events: you will get in.

  7. Two meetings a year with your group, facilitated by me. Locations will vary, depending on membership.

  8. An annual assessment of your progress and positioning, with a tailored booster kit covering your professional and personal goals going forward.

  9. Rolling, twelve-month membership with a 10% reduction in fee the second year.

II. Alan’s Roundtable

  1. By invitation or application. No one from outside the community will be admitted. Anyone who has participated in the Mentor Program will be accepted, and others who have been through several events with me will be considered. I will create groups I feel are most appropriate for growth with compatible members.

  2. Twelve people maximum in any given group, though groups may have fewer.

  3. Three days with me individually, including dinner, over 12 months.

  4. Monthly phone conversations with the group and me, with free downloads.

  5. Fifteen percent discount on any and all of my participative events of $900 and above, and free participation in all others.

  6. Free subscriptions to any of my periodic offerings (e.g., Alan’s Friday Wrap, teleconference series, etc.).

  7. Priority inclusion in all of my events: you will get in. You may reserve space without a deposit.

  8. Three meetings a year with your individual group, facilitated by me. Locations may vary based on membership.

  9. A personal booster kit from me every 90 days based on your personal and professional goals, and tailored for you.

  10. Rolling, twelve-month membership with a 15% reduction in fee the second year.

Alan's experiences always involve great learning, camaraderie, and dining!

Anticipated Questions:

Q: What about programs I’ve already registered and paid for in the future and haven’t yet attended?

A: I will take 10% or 15% of the fees you’ve paid and deduct them from membership in either program of the Growth Cycle Experiences. You’ll find that the net fee to you will represent astonishing ROI. For example, if you’ve paid $12,000 for the Thought Leadership Conference in October of 2012, and you join Alan’s Roundtable, you’ll receive an $1800 reduction (15% of $12,000) reducing your $20,000 charter member fee to $18,200.

Q: Can I move from one program to the other?

A: Yes, if there is room and I feel there is a good fit with the new group. You may pay any difference in fee, or have your membership extended in return for additional fees you’ve paid.

Q: Does this include programs with other membership requirements, for example Million Dollar Club or Mentor Hall of Fame meetings?

A: It does if the individual otherwise qualifies or is invited to such programs.

Q. Can I pay in installments?

A. At most, two installments, but half must be paid on enrollment and the balance no more than 60 days later. There are no cancellations under any circumstances. You cannot “freeze” your membership. You may join at any time, since it is a rolling twelve month membership.

Q. What happens if I can’t make all the meetings or calls?

A. I anticipate that many people won’t be able to do everything, which is why there is so much offered, including free downloads. It’s not my expectation that you will engage in every single offering, since this is about quality and personal growth, not quantity. However, I would urge that the private days with me be used with discipline. There are also free downloads of all calls.

Q. Would this take the place of a mastermind group?

A. I’d certainly never advise you leave a group that is working for you. However, it seems to me that some of the people in these particular groups of twelve or sixteen are logical partners for you, both in mastermind meetings and as accountability partners.

Q. Will I have any input about who is in my group?

A. Yes, you can both recommend names to me and/or provide feedback about new applicants. But there is no “veto” power and I’ll decide who makes sense in which group.

Q. What is the quarterly personal booster?

A. You’ll be asked to complete a detailed profile upon enrollment, which will include a wide variety of aspects of your life and work. I will create a process for monitoring emerging events, markets, personal interests, and related matters—from specific targets of opportunity to life balance—which will be presented in a package to you every 90 days.

Q. You’ve listed maximums, but is there a minimum for a group to be formed?

A. Yes, four people is my absolute minimum. I’ve chosen that number because it enables four people (or more) to come together and form their own small group, and I will honor a request to keep the group confined to those members. And any mastermind group would normally require at least four people to create proper dynamics.

Q. Will this be duplicative of experiences such as the Million Dollar Club?

A. I certainly hope not. The Million Dollar Club, as an example, has a unique dynamic of meeting once a year in exotic places, sharing rare meals and recreational opportunities, and welcoming spouses and significant others. I have provided for a reduction in the Million Dollar Club membership for people who choose these programs, but my observation is that the experience is singular.

Q. Why did you do this?

A. There have been a lot of requests for more individualized learning and growth as the community has become more sophisticated. And it’s another step in my own, ongoing reinvention.

Your investment:

Alan’s Circle

$10,000 for charter members up to March 15, 2012.

$15,000 thereafter.

Second year: $9000 and $13,500, respectively.

Alan’s Roundtable

$20,000 for charter members up to March 15, 2012.

$25,000 subsequent to March 15, 2012.

Second year: $17,000 and $21,250, respectively.

Calculations

Consider, just as an example, the fact that Total Immersion with me is $9,500 for existing mentor members and $13,500 for new members; that Thought Leadership would yield a discounted amount of $1,200-$1,800; that Friday Wrap ($600) and the Teleconference Series already existing ($500) would be free; and so on, and you can see the return on this investment in intimate, long-lived development.
